Four Elements
Air – Panorama Siderale

In this work the subject is Air and the prominent color is the same of Water. The word “Panorama” invites the viewer to take, on an imaginary prospective and experience the scene from afar. The elliptical rotation of the Earth around the Sun, represented in gold, is visible from space.
The Earth, on the other hand, is blue like its own atmosphere. The distance between them tells the cycle of the seasons and the alchemical process of transformation. Here, Air could be interpreted not only as a gaseous substance that constructs the Earth’s atmosphere but also as a spatial form from which the term “Siderale” derives.

Water – Macro Molecolare
Watercolours, graphite and metallic leaf on paper

The drawing here is geometric in order to show the different aspects of Water: solid, liquid and aeriform.
In common with ‘Air’, the prominent color is cold, but the visual aspects are symmetric, abstract, “Macro-scopic” – as if the viewer is looking through an illusory lens of an unreal microscope.
The triple unity tied by the triangle, symbolizes the spiritual form of the Molecular nature of Water – H2O.

Fire – Entropia Quantistica

In this work, the modular form deeply differs, style wise, from that of ‘Water’ and ‘Air’.
The predominant color, a warm tone, is also different. The flames follow each other with a mechanical rythm of a mathematic axiom, “Quantistico”. Unreality evokes a psychic and a spiritual state; magical, like the numerical ratio, in the center of each module, that refers to the squares in order of 3 or 4.
Thermodynamic Entropy function is mentioned in the text (ΔS ≥ 0). A close-up frame shows the frenetic look of the movement of time, where a regular scheme is potentially transformable.

Earth – Allegro Andante Allegro

Symmetry, designed to focus on the central almond-shaped element, describes the birth of civilization. The mixing of cultures, architectural forms and floral decorations alternate in a repeating cycle as suggested by the text Allegro Andante Allegro, where Allegro is = 1 + Andante = 2 + 1. The Sun and the Moon, that link the cornucopias, also reflect that sense of continuity, whereas in the corners above and the chessboard and checkers represent the game of life.
